Chandigarh In Three Parts

We asked ourselves where to go this time.  I said, "Let’s go to Chandigarh" and so we went.  Chandigarh was laid out by Le Corbusier in the 1950’s.  It was designed to be a city for the people and was organized into sectors.  Today it's hallmark buildings and monument take us back to a time when modernism was flourishing and Nehru Ji had a dream.

First Part: The Rock Garden and Elliot’s Story

It’s comes from the rubble and stuff of city building.  But unlike the city, the garden is a labyrinth with quirky sculptures and surprising openings.  The twists, turns and push of the crowd all proved too much for Elliot.

You would never guess it, but I was on this tour with a lot of architecture students and I said to some along the way, “What do you think?  Do you like what you see?”
